New purpose-built eco studio – a place for music to breathe. Ideal for acoustic and acoustic oriented music – this environment has been created for musicians looking to capture those special moments that make unique recordings.

Dylan Fowler has built up an impressive reputation for his studio skills over the last ten years and now, with the new studio, hopes to make the recording process a joyous experience for clients, taking the music to even higher levels.

The studio has a large performance area (48 square metres) which is very much geared towards acoustic and acoustic orientated music. There is a separate isolation room, control room and kitchen ( the kitchen is also designed so that it can easily be a secondary isolation room) and the whole feel of the place has a lot of the homeliness that you will have experienced when the studio was based in the Mill.

Technically the studio is based around a Tascam DM3200 digital mixer which enables me to record up to 24 tracks live and the main recording software is Nuendo but projects can easily be converted to run on different systems.
A good selection of microphones is available and we are also very lucky to have a 100 year old beautifully restored 6′ Steinway Grand Piano (which records beautifully!).

Previous clients include Jamie Smith’s Mabon, Alaw, Barrule, Robin Williamson, Tea Hodzic trio (Songlines ‘Top of the World’), Ffynnon, Rachel Taylor-Beales, Cheryl Beer and many more.

As well as recording, Dylan Fowler can offer production/arranging and composition skills. The studio is near Abergavenny. Follow the link to the Studio Felin Fach website for more detail.
